Need a different type of leadership keynote speaker to solve your leadership overwhelm?

Book Carolyn as the speaker at your next leadership event.

Leaders today are leading through high levels of change, often without best practices or playbook. It’s creating huge amounts of uncertainty, ineffectiveness, and burnout.

Your leaders need a different approach: it’s not about adding more skills that will change their leadership capacity. In fact, this is exactly why so many leaders continue to be on the edge of burnout, as they try to manage rapid change with leadership skills that haven’t evolved to meet the changing needs of today’s workplace.

Instead, they need to learn how to clear out the noise in their heads and create more space to lead clearly.

My talks help leaders see that calm leadership isn’t about sitting still; it’s about creating space for clarity that allows them to lead and respond from a place of intention, not reaction (or overreaction).

More than a workshop or keynote, my interactive style allows leaders to experience the nervous system shifts right in our session that they can continue to carry into your workplace.

While all of my talks are customized to meet the needs of your audience, there are two topics that are most frequently requested:

Upgrade Your Leadership iOS

Lots of leaders tell me they’re trying to get their team to move more quickly. But is it about being faster, or improving how effectively you work? If you’re driving on a highway and your windshield is foggy, will trying to go faster make any difference?

For today’s workplace, we need new leadership skills we never imagined we’d need. I’ll show your leaders how their nervous system is creating reactions and behaviours they might not realize, and new practices to help them be more connected, effective, and impactful with their team, even in the most stressful situations.

Using the iPhone as a metaphor, this session will help your leaders upgrade their leadership capacity, not just add more “apps.”

The Science of True Psychological Safety

You may have read about the importance of vulnerability in leadership. It’s a critical step to creating more inclusive and innovative team environments, and when teams are facing high levels of change and uncertainty, these qualities become critical.

What’s not talked about as often (or at all) is how courage and vulnerability can’t happen in an erratic or volatile workplace.

Leaders who have learned how to better regulate their nervous systems become calm and consistent, qualities that create the space for openness, vulnerability and courage. I use a variety of conversations, practices, and introspection to help you and your leaders look differently at the qualities and skills needed for this new era of leadership.

Meet Carolyn.

I’ve been a leadership and culture change consultant, coach, and facilitator for more than 10 years. People, and what makes them tick, is my passion. I bring stories from my days as a leader in the pharma industry, my struggles as a working mom who was also a widow with two small children, and the skills I’ve learned in my own path to increase the impact I can make.

And as a trauma-informed certified consultant and coach, I don’t hide from the challenging situations or difficult questions — I’m ready to tackle your thorniest workplace issues and bring new thinking to help your leaders find new solutions that are proven to work.

My second book, Evolve: The Path To Trauma-Informed Leadership helps leaders learn how their unconscious behaviours may be affecting the dynamics and success of their teams, and the practices to become more self-aware and change how they show up every day. I’m excited to bring these concepts to you and your leaders.
